Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main finance partner for assigned IT departments and support day-to-day financial needs.
  • Lead budgeting and monthly forecasting activities, balancing capital and operating spend in alignment with technology plans.
  • Partner with Accounting to support accurate month-end close activities, including accruals, reversals, and reclasses.
  • Prepare monthly reporting and variance analysis that explain results, trends, and business drivers for leadership.
  • Support Technology Business Management practices, including cost allocation across towers, services, applications, and business units.
  • Help maintain accurate cost mappings and taxonomy so reporting remains transparent, consistent, and defensible over time.
  • Assist with showback and chargeback reporting and help resolve questions related to allocation methodology.
  • Build KPI scorecards and recurring operational reporting that help leadership measure performance and efficiency.
  • Reconcile vendor accounts and support purchase order, requisition, and commitment tracking, including renewals and future obligations.
  • Support financial reviews of projects and investments, including ROI, total cost of ownership, and post-implementation analysis.
  • Create clear presentations and recommendations for senior stakeholders that highlight insights, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Continuously improve dashboards, reporting processes, and analysis to reduce manual effort and strengthen decision-making.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience in financial analysis or accounting.
  • Strong Excel skills, including financial modeling and Power Query.
  • Working knowledge of financial planning and reporting tools such as Oracle, OneStream, SmartView, Essbase, or Adaptive Planning.
  • Solid understanding of accrual accounting, capitalization, capital versus operating expense treatment, and GAAP principles.
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and draw sound conclusions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to data accuracy and source-of-truth discipline.
  • Comfort working in an evolving environment where processes and tools are actively maturing.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting IT finance, technology operations, or telecom-related financial processes.
  • Familiarity with TBM practices, IT financial management tools, or cost transparency frameworks.
  • Knowledge of vendor management, multi-year commitments, and long-range financial modeling.
  • Experience with capital request reviews, investment analysis, or post-implementation reviews.
  • Professional certification such as TBM Council Certified TBM Analyst, CPA, or CMA.
  • MBA or MS in Finance.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.
