Bring your hands-on data center expertise to a dynamic hybrid role supporting critical infrastructure across Austin, TX. This position offers the opportunity to work with multiple teams, manage essential hardware and cabling tasks, and help maintain reliable, well-organized data center operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform rack and stack activities for IT hardware in a data center environment
- Support data center operations across multiple locations in Austin, including some travel between sites
- Handle network cabling tasks involving copper and fiber connections
- Work with rack power, facility power, and power distribution components
- Assist with basic networking tasks such as connectivity checks, patching, and IP awareness
- Use ServiceNow or a similar ticketing platform to track and manage work requests
- Troubleshoot issues efficiently and help drive timely resolution
- Maintain accurate documentation, strong organization, and safe work practices
- Coordinate with multiple teams in a fast-moving, collaborative environment
- Use Excel to support reporting, tracking, or operational tasks
Skills
- Experience working in a data center or data centre environment
- Strong hands-on experience with rack and stack work
- Knowledge of network cabling, including copper and fiber
- Understanding of data center power, rack power, and power distribution
- Basic networking knowledge, including connectivity, patching, and IP concepts
- Experience using ServiceNow or another ticketing system
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Effective time management and prioritization skills
- Clear communication and the ability to work well with different teams
- Comfort with maintaining organized records and documentation
Preferred Skills
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar
- Experience supporting large-scale data center builds or migration projects
- Familiarity with DCIM platforms such as Sunbird, Nlyte, or Schneider EcoStruxure
