Step into a high-impact analytics role where you will help shape reporting that drives financial, operational, and clinical decision-making across a dental organization. In this position, you will serve as the key business partner translating reporting needs into clear requirements, validating deliverables, and ensuring reports are accurate, useful, and ready for adoption.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Finance, Revenue Cycle Management, Operations, and Clinical leaders to gather, clarify, and prioritize reporting needs.
• Translate business requests into detailed requirements for Epic Cogito analysts, including metric definitions, logic, filters, sources, timing, and acceptance criteria.
• Lead business acceptance for reports by reviewing design, testing data accuracy, reconciling results, and documenting issues through resolution.
• Apply dental practice management knowledge to analyze production, collections, accounts receivable, scheduling, treatment acceptance, provider performance, and overall practice results.
• Build and maintain recurring daily, weekly, monthly, and executive reporting packages that highlight trends, variances, risks, and opportunities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial modeling, scenario planning, and ad hoc analysis.
• Investigate data issues and performance changes, identify root causes, and communicate actionable insights to business and technical partners.
• Help improve and streamline reporting processes in collaboration with analytics, BI, data engineering, and Epic Cogito teams.
• Promote consistent reporting governance through documentation, ownership, validation standards, and reliable source definitions.

Skills

• Advanced Excel analysis and reporting capabilities.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, profitability, and KPI-driven decision-making.
• Experience in dental reporting, dental practice management workflows, and common dental performance metrics.
• Ability to gather business requirements and write clear, complete documentation for technical report development.
• Experience planning and executing report validation, reconciliation, defect tracking, retesting, and final sign-off.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex information to varied audiences.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of deliverables.
• Experience with multiple dental practice management systems such as Dentrix, Denticon, Eaglesoft, tab32, Open Dental, Dentrix Enterprise, or Dentrix Ascend.

Preferred Skills

• Working knowledge of Power BI or another data visualization platform.
• Familiarity with data warehouses, reporting environments, data models, and data quality validation processes.
• SQL experience and exposure to Epic Cogito reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Seven or more years of experience in dental reporting, business intelligence, financial analysis, business reporting, or a related analytical role.
• Seven or more years of experience in a dental or closely related healthcare environment supporting multiple locations.
• Experience preparing executive-level reporting and turning data trends into practical business recommendations.
