JOB DESCRIPTION

Join a collaborative product development team supporting a portfolio of iconic apparel brands in a hybrid role based in New York, Minnesota. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Product Manager to help bring seasonal sweater and graphic collections from concept to production while partnering closely with Merchandising, Design, Technical Design, Fabric, and global suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end product development process from concept approval through production readiness.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to keep development milestones, samples, fit approvals, materials, and costing on track.
  • Manage the seasonal calendar and production tracking to support timely execution and issue resolution.
  • Communicate daily with internal teams and global suppliers to move product development forward efficiently.
  • Identify risks related to quality, cost, or timing and recommend practical solutions when issues arise.
  • Apply costing expertise to support accurate pricing, fabric and yarn analysis, and garment construction decisions.
  • Build strong working relationships with suppliers and clearly communicate product requirements, quality standards, and delivery expectations.
  • Monitor supplier performance and help resolve development or production readiness concerns.
  • Maintain accurate product details, approvals, and documentation in PLM and related systems.
  • Prepare status updates, reports, and meeting materials to support cross-functional decision-making.
  • Support and mentor an Associate Product Manager through coaching, training, and day-to-day guidance.
  • Assist the Director in delivering seasonal product strategies and achieving quality, delivery, and financial objectives.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Product Development, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4–6 years of experience in product development, sourcing, or production within apparel retail or wholesale.
  • Strong knowledge of the apparel product lifecycle and development process.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across several teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and follow-through.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Solid understanding of costing, sourcing, and production processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to support a hybrid work environment and maintain regular in-office presence.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with discounters and club retail businesses.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems.
  • Background in fabric or yarn analysis and garment construction.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring junior team members.
  • Ability to travel as needed for the role.
  • Self-motivated mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute in a team-oriented environment.
