Join a dynamic product development environment where you’ll help keep a test kitchen running smoothly and support sensory and product evaluation work from start to finish. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on, highly organized, and contributing to a fast-moving team focused on quality, precision, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Receive, unpack, store, and track incoming samples in the test kitchen database
- Coordinate photography for first production samples
- Review and verify product preparation instructions for accuracy
- Prepare, cook, and present samples for product development and sensory evaluations
- Support product developers during cuttings and first production evaluations, including setup and cleanup
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-functioning test kitchen environment
- Follow established kitchen policies, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures
- Monitor, calibrate, and care for kitchen equipment such as scales, ovens, thermometers, and microwaves
- Track supply levels and assist with ordering replacements as needed
- Help improve processes by supporting communication, project tracking, and technical documentation
- Complete additional administrative and product development tasks as needed
Skills
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, Quality Assurance, or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under fast-paced timelines
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative team mindset
- Comfort using Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems
- Accurate typing and strong administrative follow-through
- Ability to work in a hands-on environment that involves standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and using kitchen tools and equipment
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting product development or quality assurance functions
- Knowledge of food manufacturing processes and laboratory techniques
- Strong culinary skills and a genuine interest in food
- Experience working in structured kitchen or production environments
- Ability to anticipate team needs and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
