We are looking for a pragmatic Data Pipeline Migration Engineer to help translate existing analytical workflows from Alteryx and R into Dataiku over a 3 to 6 month engagement. This role is focused on delivering validated, well-documented, production-ready pipelines that preserve business logic and can be confidently handed off to internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Translate analytical workflows from R and Alteryx into modular SQL and/or Dataiku visual and SQL recipes with a strong focus on accuracy and maintainability.
• Design and run pipelines on a cloud data warehouse such as Redshift, Snowflake, or Athena.
• Validate migrated logic against source workflows using row counts, checksums, and other simple testing methods to ensure fidelity.
• Document transformation logic, assumptions, lineage, deployment steps, and known limitations in a clear, living knowledge base.
• Support knowledge transfer by leading a small number of focused walkthrough sessions with internal analytics and data science stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams to surface blockers early and ensure smooth handoff of completed pipelines.

Skills

• Strong SQL skills, including joins, CTEs, window functions, and set-based logic.
• Experience converting R or Alteryx workflows into SQL, Python, or similar implementation patterns.
• Comfort validating pipeline outputs and confirming that migrated logic matches source behavior.
• Ability to document technical work clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-directed work style with the ability to manage priorities and communicate blockers proactively.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in data engineering, pipeline migration, or replatforming work.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Dataiku DSS, including visual recipes and project organization.
• Exposure to dbt concepts and modular SQL design for handoff and maintainability.
• Basic Git experience, including branching and pull request workflows.
• Experience working in cloud warehouse environments and translating logic for analytics teams.
