We’re looking for a talented Designer to support a fast-paced apparel team in New York, NY on an onsite, 4-month contract. This role is ideal for someone who brings strong sketching ability, excellent communication skills, and the technical expertise to lead fittings and develop tech packs with confidence.

Responsibilities

• Create original design concepts inspired by fashion trends, color direction, and fabric innovation.
• Develop sketches and seasonal presentations that communicate design ideas clearly and creatively.
• Collaborate with sourcing and materials development to help bring concepts to life.
• Support fit sessions and provide basic fit and body block information as needed.
• Lead fittings independently and ensure design details are executed accurately.
• Prepare tech packs and related design documentation to support product development.
• Contribute to apparel categories that may include fleece, knits, sport, and swimwear.

Skills

• Strong sketching and visual communication skills.
• Ability to independently lead fittings and manage technical design details.
• Experience creating tech packs for apparel development.
• Solid understanding of fashion trends, style, color, and fabric application.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support multiple design needs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design or equivalent practical experience.
• Related design experience in apparel or a similar field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience designing across fleece, knits, sport, and swimwear categories.
• Prior involvement in seasonal presentations or concept development.
• Familiarity with fit sessions and garment construction details.
• Ability to translate trend insights into compelling, market-ready design concepts.
• A proactive, organized, and collaborative approach to creative work.
