Join a hands-on fleet support role where you’ll help keep autonomous vehicle operations running smoothly through fast, thoughtful troubleshooting and cross-functional collaboration. This onsite position in San Francisco is a great fit for a technical problem solver who enjoys working with sensor systems, fleet data, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for urgent sensor-related fleet issues and operational escalations
- Investigate issues using detailed log review and root cause analysis to identify what happened and why
- Create, update, and improve troubleshooting documentation for technicians based on new findings and resolutions
- Support hardware bring-up and validation for sensor components such as LiDAR, radar, and cameras
- Develop diagnostic methods that improve troubleshooting efficiency, sensor calibration, and data quality
- Review vehicle and fleet data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement
- Partner with engineering teams to enhance tooling and strengthen issue detection capabilities
- Help implement countermeasures that reduce repeat issues across the fleet
- Define key data points needed to confirm issue resolution and measure effectiveness
- Collaborate across teams to improve fleet performance, reliability, and operational uptime
- Be available for occasional overtime with advance notice and limited travel within the U.S. as needed
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in transportation, aerospace, or autonomous vehicle environments with a focus on perception systems and sensors
- Working knowledge of low- and high-voltage circuits and safe troubleshooting practices
- Familiarity with Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS)
- Ability to understand schematics, electrical diagrams, connector end views, and pinouts
- Strong understanding of hardware and software system architecture in an operations setting
- Clear, organized documentation habits and a methodical approach to solving complex problems
- Ability to build strong working relationships across technical and operational teams
- Pass a background check
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with electric vehicle technology
- Experience supporting vehicle troubleshooting remotely
- Knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostic tools
- Experience using Linux and Python for fleet-level data processing
- Exposure to software that interfaces directly with hardware
- Familiarity with networking, TCP, and socket programming
