We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join a collaborative development team supporting complex, high-impact software initiatives in a fast-paced environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute across the software development lifecycle, from technical design and proof of concepts to implementation, testing, and ongoing support.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality code while helping minimize disruption to production systems
- Contribute to technical proof of concepts, solution designs, and implementation work across the full development lifecycle
- Partner with team members and related groups to support system integration across upstream and downstream processes
- Track and resolve technical blockers related to network access, security requirements, and delivery dependencies
- Participate in peer reviews and provide constructive feedback on technical deliverables
- Document standards, best practices, and design contributions to support team alignment and consistency
- Analyze application and database performance, review logs, and troubleshoot issues in partnership with support teams
- Help create and improve automated test cases to support application quality and stability
- Communicate progress, challenges, and deliverables clearly in standups, design discussions, and team meetings
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent experience
- 4 to 6+ years of experience in software design and web development
- Strong programming skills in an object-oriented language, with Java preferred
- Experience with Spring framework, MVC, JavaScript, Ajax, ORM, and web services
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including stored procedures and database object creation
- Familiarity with Unix or a Unix-like operating system
- Understanding of agile software development practices and how they differ from waterfall approaches
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly
- Ability to think independently, solve problems thoughtfully, and adapt to changing priorities
- Comfort working collaboratively across teams and contributing to a positive, inclusive environment
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with Angular
- Exposure to AWS services, including containerization and serverless technologies
- Experience with build automation and code repository tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, or GitLab
- Background supporting application or database performance analysis and troubleshooting
- Experience mentoring teammates or contributing to technical knowledge sharing
