JOB DESCRIPTION

Join a hands-on integration engineering team focused on making complex hardware and software systems work reliably in a fast-paced vehicle development environment. This onsite role in Foster City supports the deployment, debugging, testing, and stabilization of next-generation compute, sensor, and networking systems used for autonomous vehicle platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts to identify, isolate, and resolve issues across hardware, firmware, and software systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering partners to drive technical issues through root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Support vehicle assembly, bring-up, and manufacturing activities by defining test plans and validation requirements.
  • Develop and improve test automation, debugging workflows, and internal analysis tools to strengthen coverage and efficiency.
  • Create and refine processes and operational workflows that help improve fleet stability and day-to-day system reliability.
  • Provide feedback to engineering teams to support future product improvements and design enhancements.
  • Work onsite five days per week and travel within the Bay Area as needed.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Working knowledge of hardware interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, USB, UART, LIN, I2C, and SPI.
  • Experience using testing and debugging tools to diagnose system behavior and improve reliability.
  • Ability to develop requirements-based test cases and support validation planning.
  • Proficiency in Python or a similar scripting language.
  • Experience with version control tools such as Git and other software debugging tools.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with requirements management tools such as Polarion or JIRA.
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience with microcontroller-based systems.
  • Exposure to high-speed signals, sensing technologies, power electronics, Bluetooth, LTE, or NFC.
  • Knowledge of schematic design, PCB layout, or electrical characterization equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
