JOB DESCRIPTION

Bring enterprise-level programs to life in a highly visible Principal Program Manager role supporting complex, cross-functional initiatives. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for a strategic leader who can guide multiple workstreams, strengthen delivery discipline, and help turn organizational priorities into measurable results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large, complex programs that span multiple projects and business areas, ensuring goals, scope, budget, and timelines stay aligned.
  • Define program objectives, success measures, and integrated delivery plans with clear accountability and milestones.
  • Track progress using enterprise project management standards and provide regular status updates to key stakeholders.
  • Guide project managers and cross-functional teams to support consistent delivery and strong alignment to program goals.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks and dependencies, escalating issues and recommending practical solutions when needed.
  • Partner with business leaders, subject matter experts, vendors, and sponsors to drive decisions and support adoption of program outcomes.
  • Support change management efforts across workstreams to help ensure smooth implementation and lasting impact.
  • Optimize resource and budget use across projects to maximize value and keep delivery on track.
  • Communicate effectively with executive and board-level stakeholders, providing insights, recommendations, and clear decision support.
  • Contribute to process improvement efforts and help strengthen project management practices across the organization.

Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in program or project management.
  • 6+ years of experience leading projects across multiple SDLC approaches, including Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, and hybrid models.
  • 6+ years of experience leading operational and technology initiatives in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project or similar project management applications.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of an organization.
  • Proven ability to manage complexity, influence decisions, and drive tradeoffs to deliver value.
  • Ability to lead through change, work collaboratively, and maintain focus in a fast-moving environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience and education.

Preferred Skills

  • PMP certification.
  • Experience working with implementation partners.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or people management experience.
  • Background supporting coaching, mentoring, or development of project management teams.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to connect strategy, operations, and technology.
