Join a dynamic urban mobility organization as a Senior Policy Manager and help shape the future of transportation, with a focus on the growth and success of a leading station-based micromobility program. This is a highly visible opportunity for a strategic, relationship-driven policy professional who enjoys working with elected officials, government leaders, community organizations, and cross-functional teams to advance transportation and public policy initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Represent the organization in meetings and interactions with elected officials, government leaders, and staff
- Attend high-profile events and represent the organization with key elected and appointed leaders
- Develop and execute public policy and advocacy strategies supporting the growth of the organization’s micromobility program
- Track relevant legislation at municipal, county, and state levels and engage directly with elected officials
- Partner with senior leadership to develop public policy priorities that support business and operational objectives
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Communications, and Operations teams on market strategy
- Lead or co-lead one to two internal policy workstreams with a national scope
- Manage external policy consultants supporting government engagement, legislative tracking, and lobbying campaigns
- Develop and advocate for policies that support biking, walking, public transit, and innovative mobility options
- Build and maintain relationships with elected officials, government leaders, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders
- Lead advocacy campaigns that advance transportation and business priorities
- Travel frequently, including occasional last-minute travel, to support policy and advocacy efforts
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in public policy, government affairs, political campaigns, and/or business development
- Strong existing relationships within transportation, government, and advocacy communities
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proven entrepreneurial, resourceful, and “scrappy” mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding, and sometimes unstructured environment
- Strong ability to prioritize and execute while maintaining a long-term strategic focus
- Self-starter who is also an effective team player
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to drive outcomes and close deals
- Natural relationship builder and connector
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently
- Passion for transportation, public transit, urban planning
