Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable microservices that support real-time execution and trading workflows.
- Build and enhance Java/Spring Boot applications with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with quants, product partners, and technical teams to turn execution strategies into production-ready solutions.
- Improve application speed through careful tuning of concurrency, memory usage, and garbage collection behavior.
- Support system resiliency by helping implement risk controls, automated safeguards, and monitoring within the platform.
- Contribute to the full trade lifecycle, including order handling, execution, clearing, settlement, and audit support.
- Work with high-performance messaging and data technologies to support fast and accurate transaction processing.
- Participate in testing, code quality, and CI/CD practices to help ensure consistent delivery.
Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Core Java, preferably Java 17 or newer.
- Production experience with Scala and functional programming concepts.
- Experience building microservices with Spring Boot and related JVM-based frameworks.
- Deep understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and Java memory management.
- Background in trading systems, including order management and execution workflows.
- Familiarity with market data concepts and low-latency, high-availability systems.
- Experience with containerization and cloud-native development practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Must have financial services experience.
- Scala experience is required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Kafka, Solace, Aeron, Redis, or Hazelcast.
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and service mesh technologies.
- Familiarity with TDD/BDD practices and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Knowledge of regulatory considerations relevant to trading environments.
- Experience supporting performance-sensitive or algorithmic platforms.
