JOB DESCRIPTION

Bring your financial and operational expertise to a fast-paced product development environment where you’ll help shape budgets, schedules, and supplier strategies for custom-designed devices. This contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented program professional who thrives on cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving, and driving results from concept through end of life.

Responsibilities

  • Manage program financials and cost models across materials, tooling, and non-recurring engineering.
  • Partner with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams to establish cost and schedule targets at a commodity level.
  • Track actual costs and milestones against plan, identify gaps, and help drive corrective actions.
  • Support procurement and delivery of components to keep new product introduction and production builds on track.
  • Lead or contribute to product introduction meetings and assess the cost impact of engineering and process changes.
  • Work with suppliers to support purchase order pricing, contract discussions, and statement of work negotiations.
  • Monitor and help manage purchase price variance claims, schedule risks, and changes tied to obsolescence or forecast shifts.
  • Prepare updates for executive-level reviews covering budget performance, targets, actuals, and schedule status.
  • Coordinate across multiple teams to resolve issues efficiently and minimize escalations.
  • Support cost-reduction planning to help the program meet financial and schedule goals.

Skills

  • Experience managing program budgets, cost tracking, and schedule delivery.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain, procurement, and operations processes.
  • Ability to analyze financial exposure, identify risks, and recommend practical actions.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfort working with internal teams and external suppliers in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to organize priorities, follow through on details, and drive accountability.
  • Experience preparing clear updates for leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Solid negotiation and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting new product introduction or product lifecycle programs.
  • Background in hardware, manufacturing, or custom device environments.
  • Familiarity with supplier contract discussions and statement of work coordination.
  • Experience handling purchase price variance, change management, or cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively in highly collaborative, matrixed teams.
