Join a high-impact data engineering team supporting large-scale cloud and analytics environments. This contract opportunity offers the chance to build and maintain reporting and data solutions that help drive meaningful business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support data solutions that provide timely and structured access to information
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, analyses, and recurring metrics for business stakeholders
- Develop and support data models, metadata structures, and analytic platforms using third-party and in-house tools
- Optimize SQL queries and application performance using profiling and tuning techniques
- Partner with business teams to understand reporting and analytical needs and turn requirements into solutions
- Work with large, complex datasets to identify patterns, surface trends, and support operational decisions
- Contribute to ETL pipelines and data warehousing processes in a complex environment
Skills
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with complex SQL
- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL pipeline development
- Proficiency in at least one modern scripting or programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, or Node.js
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively with large datasets
- Ability to collaborate directly with business partners and translate requirements into practical solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, information technology, or a related field
Preferred Skills
- Experience with BI and reporting tools such as Tableau or Quicksuite
- Familiarity with AWS services such as Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Firehose, Lambda, and IAM
- Experience working with non-relational data stores such as object storage, document databases, key-value stores, graph databases, or column-family databases
- Understanding of software engineering best practices, including code reviews, source control, testing, and deployment processes
- Background in business intelligence, software engineering, or data science with a focus on extracting value from data
