Systems Engineer
Join us in shaping the future of embedded security as a Systems Engineer, where your expertise will drive innovative solutions for next-generation platforms. In this pivotal role, you will design and implement robust security architectures for embedded Linux systems, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and resilience of devices at scale. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to build secure boot processes, develop cryptographic defenses, automate security pipelines, and support manufacturing efforts—all while championing diversity, equity, and inclusion in tech.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 6+ years in Embedded Linux development, board bring-up, and BSP customization
- 3+ years deploying device-level security features in production hardware
- Deep knowledge of bootloader configurations (U-Boot, Barebox) and Linux kernel security subsystems (dm-crypt, dm-verity)
- Strong understanding of ARM TrustZone architectures and hardware security principles
- Proficiency in C, Python, and Bash scripting
- Experience with embedded Linux build frameworks like Yocto or Buildroot
- Capable of designing cryptographic defense mechanisms and automating CI/CD security pipelines
Nice to Have Skills:
- Knowledge of cryptography, hashing algorithms, and PKI
- Experience working with contract manufacturers or internal factory lines for secure key-injection and fuse-burning
- Familiarity with embedded container runtimes (LXC, crun) and lightweight sandboxing
- Expertise in secure versioning and anti-rollback strategies for OTA updates
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline
- More than 6 years of professional experience in embedded Linux and security
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work onsite in Foster City, CA (5 days/week)
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening
- Willingness to collaborate with manufacturing and cross-functional teams to ensure secure device provisioning and resilience
