What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable database solutions tailored to evolving business needs
• Install, configure, and upgrade database systems, ensuring seamless performance and security
• Monitor and fine-tune database performance, queries, indexes, and schemas for reliability and speed
• Implement and uphold database security protocols to protect sensitive information
• Collaborate closely with application developers to refine schema design and SQL optimization
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents promptly across various environments
• Maintain clear documentation of architecture, configurations, and operational procedures
• Perform capacity planning and recommend infrastructure enhancements
• Manage cloud-based database infrastructure on AWS (RDS, Aurora, Redshift)
• Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices to continually improve our data landscape

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Database Engineer or DBA with strong AWS and IaC expertise
• Deep knowledge of DBMSs such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Redshift
• Proficiency in SQL query optimization and data modeling principles
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning, backup/restoration, and disaster recovery
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Understanding of AWS networking fundamentals
• Experience with Terraform Cloud and automation workflows
• Scripting proficiency in Python or Shell
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for databases using Bamboo, Flyway, or similar tools

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Relevant Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields
• Several years of professional experience working with cloud-based database systems and infrastructure

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to work onsite in Foster City, CA, and flexible hours to support operational needs and incident resolution
• Willingness to undergo background and drug screening upon offer
