We’re looking for a Senior Business Analyst to help shape and improve an examiner workflow tool supporting a major federal financial institution. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with business and technical teams, translating needs into clear user stories, and contributing to Agile delivery in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Gather, document, and refine business and system requirements for a web-based workflow application
- Partner with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to maintain a shared understanding of business goals and desired outcomes
- Update and manage user stories, including clear acceptance criteria, prioritization, and estimation details
- Support Agile ceremonies such as backlog refinement, release planning, and PI planning sessions as needed
- Help facilitate communication between business and technical teams throughout development and ongoing enhancements
- Contribute to the implementation, continuous improvement, and maintenance of the workflow tool
- Assist in the transition from a legacy system to a modern solution leveraging cloud services
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- At least 10 years of experience leading projects or other key business initiatives
- Two or more years of experience in IT portfolio and customer relationship management
- Strong experience working in Agile environments, including Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe
- Proven ability to create and manage user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; writing samples may be requested
- Experience eliciting, analyzing, specifying, verifying, and managing requirements for web-based, data-driven applications
- Ability to work effectively with both business users and technical teams
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AWS GovCloud UI application development projects
- PMP, PMI-ACP, PMI-PBA, SAFe, or CSM certification
- Experience supporting release management activities
- Familiarity with examiner workflow tools or similar enterprise applications
- Background in facilitating cross-functional meetings and planning sessions
