JOB DESCRIPTION

Join a dynamic team building the next generation of applications and products with a strong focus on secure, scalable, and modern software delivery. This Java Engineer role offers the opportunity to collaborate with product managers, UX designers, architects, principal engineers, software engineers, test automation professionals, and DevOps teams to help design, build, configure, and maintain high-performing applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, configure, deploy, and support scalable application solutions
  • Build secure software and contribute to application and product architecture
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver modern software products and enhancements
  • Develop services and APIs that support business needs and technical standards
  • Work with cloud platforms to create, configure, and deploy applications
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to design artifacts and technical documentation
  • Support testing, installation, operations, deployment, and maintenance activities
  • Use analytical thinking to solve complex technical problems and improve solutions over time
  • Help assess technology risks and contribute to remediation planning for systems nearing end of life or end of support

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience designing and developing secure applications and products
  • Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
  • Knowledge of REST API development and microservices architecture
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Familiarity with source control and CI/CD tools such as Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Maven
  • Understanding of code quality and testing tools such as SonarQube, JUnit, and TestNG
  • Experience with cloud deployment, especially Microsoft Azure or another cloud platform
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Oracle, Datadog, OAuth 2.0, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar tools
  • Experience using GenAI tools for code generation, refactoring, debugging, documentation, or test creation
  • Interest in applying AI to improve developer productivity, software quality, and modernization efforts
  • Experience working in agile development environments
  • Ability to interpret technical trends and help plan remediation efforts for aging systems
  • Experience creating clear technical documentation and presenting data effectively
