Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance features across existing services and new services as needed
- Develop Kafka producers and consumers to support event-driven workflows at scale
- Contribute to application architecture and help translate high-level ideas into practical technical designs
- Write clean, testable code and maintain strong automated test coverage
- Support operational readiness by participating in on-call coverage and helping triage issues
- Collaborate with engineers to review designs, share feedback, and improve implementation quality
- Work within established deployment, communication, and change management practices
- Help reduce repeat incidents by identifying root causes and improving long-term solutions
Skills
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong experience with JVM-based development, especially Kotlin and Java
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot or Micronaut
- Experience building highly scalable, distributed systems
- Working knowledge of Kafka and event-driven architecture
- Experience with Postgres and MongoDB
- Ability to solve problems effectively and support operational troubleshooting
- Comfort working in a team environment with a strong focus on quality and collaboration
- Ability to work in a hybrid schedule with onsite presence on Wednesdays and during core weeks
- Background check and drug screen required upon offer
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Elastic and the ELK stack
- Familiarity with Grafana
- Experience with Influx
- Exposure to RocksDB
- Experience working in environments with high observability and mature CI/CD pipelines
