Join an embedded testing leadership role supporting a large-scale ADMS program, where you will help shape testing strategy, improve testability, and strengthen quality across complex system implementations. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on test leader who can guide end-to-end testing, partner with cross-functional teams, and drive improvements in automation, performance, and overall delivery readiness.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end testing activities for a major ADMS implementation and help ensure a reliable, successful release process
- Develop and evolve the overall testing strategy, including test planning, environment approach, code management, and test utilization
- Define entry and exit criteria for test phases and establish acceptance criteria for vendors and project stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to improve testability early in the lifecycle and partner with teams to build quality in from the start
- Work closely with developers, product owners, program leadership, and other vendors to support testing execution and continuous improvement
- Drive test automation opportunities and collaborate with automation teams to expand and maintain the automated test suite
- Support performance testing efforts, including artifact maintenance, metric review, and input to non-functional requirements
- Coordinate with environment and infrastructure partners to make sure testing environments are ready ahead of test cycles
- Oversee resource planning, work allocation, and ramp up or ramp down needs based on project demand
- Track and report testing health, defect trends, and progress metrics to leadership on a regular basis
- Partner with defect triage and release management teams to help prioritize fixes and maintain traceability
- Coach and support testers on best practices, standards, tools, and methodologies
- Stay current on testing technologies and recommend improvements that enhance reliability, performance, and delivery outcomes
Skills
- 15+ years of experience as a QA/Test Lead
- 10+ years of utility industry experience supporting testing for ADMS, OMS, DMS, or SCADA systems
- Strong background in large-scale system integration testing environments
- Experience leading testing for complex, enterprise-level technology programs
- Solid knowledge of test automation and performance testing tools such as Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, TestComplete, NeoLoad, or JMeter
- Hands-on experience with at least one scripting or programming language such as TypeScript, Java, or Python
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage deliverables and timelines effectively
- Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall delivery models
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines; GitLab CI experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear status updates and recommendations
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment and adapting to changing project needs, including occasional overtime if required
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Emerson ADMS technologies
- Background in building or improving virtualized services for testing
- Experience contributing to performance metrics analysis and testing governance
- Ability to quickly learn application architecture and translate findings into practical testing improvements
- Experience mentoring or training testers within application teams
