Join a dynamic Supply Chain Data & AI team as a Data Engineer focused on building scalable data products and pipelines that power analytics and AI initiatives across sourcing, transportation, and warehouse management. This remote California opportunity offers the chance to work on cloud-native solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help transform enterprise data into trusted assets that support business insight and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on Google Cloud Platform.
- Develop and optimize data solutions using Dataproc, BigQuery, SQL, and dbt.
- Create and maintain reliable data models that support reporting, analytics, and AI use cases.
- Ingest, transform, validate, and publish data from multiple enterprise source systems.
- Partner with product, architecture, business analysis, and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Build reusable transformation components and follow established engineering standards and best practices.
- Improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across data processing workflows.
- Perform testing, data validation, and production support to maintain data quality and stability.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and technical documentation efforts.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering.
- Hands-on experience delivering data solutions in Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong technical skills in Dataproc, BigQuery, SQL, and dbt.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, including dimensional modeling and analytical warehouse concepts.
- Experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines with large datasets.
- Familiarity with Git-based version control and CI/CD practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
- Exposure to Apache Kafka or other event streaming platforms.
- Working knowledge of PySpark for distributed processing.
- Python experience for engineering, scripting, or automation tasks.
- Understanding of data quality, metadata management, and data governance principles.
- Experience in retail, supply chain, transportation, logistics, warehouse management, or distribution center environments.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a cross-functional Agile team.
