Join a collaborative engineering team focused on modernizing location management and admin functionality through scalable data services and UI components. This remote opportunity is ideal for a senior JVM engineer who enjoys working across microservices, messaging, and APIs to solve complex technical challenges with real business impact.
Responsibilities
- Build and enhance data services and user interface components that support location management and admin workflows.
- Contribute to modernization efforts for inbound processing and related platform functionality.
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services in a microservices environment.
- Implement and support REST APIs that integrate with internal systems and consumers.
- Work with messaging platforms to develop reliable producer and consumer solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand dependencies, resolve issues, and deliver features efficiently.
- Write unit tests and participate in automated testing to help ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Work in an agile environment, helping size stories, document work, and support iterative delivery.
- Partner with infrastructure, security, and other technical stakeholders as needed.
Skills
- Senior-level experience with Java and Kotlin.
- Strong background in messaging platforms such as Kafka.
- Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, including both producer and consumer development.
- Proven experience building and supporting REST APIs.
- Database experience with one or more of the following: Oracle Exadata, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
- Ability to learn an existing codebase quickly and contribute with limited guidance.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in an agile development environment.
- Familiarity with test-driven development and software test automation.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with modular monorepo architecture.
- Exposure to framework-free codebases.
- Experience with RocksDB.
- Comfort working closely with teams in Central Time business hours.
