JOB DESCRIPTION

Join a hands-on quality engineering role focused on improving product reliability, resolving manufacturing issues, and supporting vehicle release readiness in a fast-paced, fully onsite environment. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate across quality, manufacturing, engineering, supplier quality, and fleet operations to help ensure products meet design intent, performance expectations, and documentation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Own quality issue tracking from containment through root cause analysis and corrective action for nonconformances found during production audits and vehicle release activities.
  • Support troubleshooting and diagnosis of NVH concerns raised during quality audit and release processes, including helping establish standard inspection methods and tool requirements.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement efforts that strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of production quality audits, release processes, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with supplier quality, manufacturing, and vehicle development teams to address recurring product and process issues at the system level.
  • Contribute to the development and review of PFMEAs and Control Plans to support compliance and robust risk mitigation across critical manufacturing processes.
  • Communicate technical findings clearly, drive cross-functional alignment, and help close issues in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Travel as needed to other company locations based on business requirements.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 8–10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within automotive, aviation, or contract manufacturing.
  • Strong background in advanced problem-solving methods such as Shainin Red X or Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt approaches.
  • Proven ability to drive systemic quality improvements across the value stream.
  • Excellent planning, organization, analytical, decision-making, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage tight deadlines, and collaborate effectively across teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with an automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
  • Familiarity with quality management and ERP systems such as SAP, MES, or JIRA for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
  • ASQ certification such as CQE or Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Experience supporting quality processes in a highly cross-functional, fast-moving environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
