JOB DESCRIPTION

Join a collaborative software quality team focused on improving release reliability, testing efficiency, and overall developer experience. This onsite QA Release Engineer role supports the delivery of high-quality vehicle software by partnering closely with engineering teams to identify risks, validate fixes, and help move releases forward with confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual and automated testing across functional, regression, integration, and performance scenarios
  • Review developer pull requests and help validate changes before they move through the release process
  • Triage system-flagged scenarios and support first-pass review activities
  • Identify, document, and track defects and regressions in a clear and organized manner
  • Partner with developers, product teams, and designers to surface risk and resolve issues efficiently
  • Support merge workflows and release-related infrastructure activities, including pipedream jobs and related validation steps
  • Conduct root cause analysis on defects and re-test fixes to confirm issues are resolved without introducing new regressions
  • Help improve QA workflows and release processes to reduce inefficiencies and increase developer velocity
  • Prepare concise test updates and status reports that communicate progress, risks, and blockers

Skills

  • Experience in QA, software testing, or a similar quality-focused role
  • Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing methods
  • Strong understanding of testing types such as functional, regression, integration, and performance testing
  • Familiarity with issue tracking and project management tools such as Jira
  • Ability to analyze technical changes and assess potential impact or risk
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with test management tools such as TestRail or similar platforms
  • Exposure to release validation or software delivery workflows
  • Comfort working cross-functionally to improve processes and support team-wide efficiency
  • Detail-oriented approach to testing, documentation, and follow-through

We value diversity, equity, and inclusion as essential to building strong teams and better outcomes. We welcome candidates with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives who are excited to contribute in a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative environment.
