Join a dynamic engineering team working on inventory valuation, pricing, and chargebacks for a large-scale finance initiative. This role focuses on building and supporting modern JVM-based solutions that help enable stock ledger functionality and support a smooth transition to new business capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and support software features that align with business goals and technical requirements.
- Develop and enhance services and APIs within a microservices-based environment.
- Work on messaging-driven systems using tools such as Kafka or similar platforms.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to deliver reliable, well-documented solutions.
- Translate product backlog items into technical implementation and size user stories appropriately.
- Write unit tests and automate testing to help ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Support existing systems while contributing to new development with minimal guidance.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and iterative development processes.
- Work with infrastructure, security, and partner teams as needed to support delivery.
- Help document project work and validate features against acceptance criteria.
Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Kotlin.
- Experience building and supporting REST APIs.
- Background working with messaging platforms such as Kafka.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and consumer/producer patterns.
- Database experience with one or more of the following: Oracle Exadata, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
- Ability to quickly learn an existing codebase and contribute effectively.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience working in agile environments.
- Familiarity with test-driven development and software test automation.
- Professional experience in an engineering role, with exposure to iterative delivery practices.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with modular monorepo architecture.
- Exposure to framework-free codebases.
- Knowledge of RocksDB.
- Experience supporting financial or inventory-related applications.
- Comfort working in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
