Join a dynamic engineering team focused on building modern data services that support commodity code management, distribution center servicing strategy, and the decommissioning of a legacy schedule ID adapter. This is a great opportunity for a senior JVM engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating across teams, and contributing to business-critical platforms in a fast-moving, agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance data services that support commodity code associations and related business workflows
- Help support the transition away from legacy systems by contributing to decommissioning efforts for an existing adapter
- Design, build, and maintain REST APIs that are reliable, scalable, and easy to support
- Work with messaging platforms and event-driven architecture, including consumer and producer implementations
- Collaborate closely with product, infrastructure, security, and partner teams to deliver business value
- Write unit tests and automation to help ensure quality and support ongoing development
- Break down user stories, estimate work, and contribute to iterative agile delivery
- Document technical work and test deliverables against acceptance criteria
- Ramp up quickly on existing systems and contribute with minimal guidance
Skills
- Strong professional experience with Java and Kotlin
- Hands-on experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka
- Background in microservices architecture and building producer/consumer applications
- Experience developing and supporting REST APIs
- Solid database experience with Oracle Exadata, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra
- Ability to work independently while staying highly collaborative
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
- Experience working in agile environments and delivering incremental improvements
- Familiarity with test-driven development and software test automation
Preferred Skills
- Experience with modular monorepo architecture
- Exposure to framework-free codebases
- Experience with RocksDB
- Previous work on systems that require modernization or decommissioning
