JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large, high-priority initiatives from kickoff through completion in a hybrid environment with two days per week onsite in Mendota Heights, MN. This contract role offers the opportunity to partner with business and IT leaders, guide cross-functional teams, and help improve project delivery practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex projects through the full lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution, delivery, and closure.
  • Build and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, resource plans, status updates, and meeting documentation.
  • Track scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables to help ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Identify risks and issues early, escalate when needed, and drive practical mitigation actions.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, sponsors, vendors, and stakeholders to keep work moving smoothly.
  • Support the development and approval of project-related documentation, including statements of work and other key materials.
  • Mentor project managers and coordinators while helping strengthen project management methods, templates, and procedures.
  • Support project postmortems and lessons learned to improve future delivery practices.
  • Communicate project progress, concerns, and outcomes clearly to both operational and executive audiences.
  • Partner with business customers and vendors to help resolve issues and support corrective action planning.

Skills

  • 8+ years of project management experience leading enterprise-level or large cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong experience managing project plans, budgets, risks, schedules, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent executive communication skills, including the ability to present concise status updates and recommendations.
  • Ability to work across departments and build collaborative relationships with business and IT partners.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and keep projects on track in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also responding well to direction from multiple stakeholders.
  • Comfort working with project management tools and standard methodologies.

Preferred Skills

  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • Experience mentoring other project managers is a plus.
  • Background supporting both IT and business projects is beneficial.
  • Experience with large projects spanning 12 to 18 months is helpful.
  • Experience with vendors, RFI/RFP processes, and statement of work development is advantageous.
  • Experience with projects involving international components is a plus.
