Join a dynamic technology team as a Software Development Engineer in Test, where you will help shape the quality, reliability, and performance of modern applications across UI, API, and backend services. This role offers the opportunity to build and maintain automation frameworks, strengthen CI/CD practices, and collaborate closely with engineers and business partners in an agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests for user interfaces, APIs, and backend services.
- Build and improve automation frameworks using modular design approaches and patterns such as Page Object Model.
- Create and maintain test automation jobs and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Write and support automated tests using tools and libraries such as Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured, Karate, or similar solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and subject matter experts to define test coverage and quality expectations.
- Participate in code and design reviews and help identify opportunities to improve process, quality, and efficiency.
- Support testing across the full delivery lifecycle, including functional, integration, and end-to-end validation.
- Contribute to agile teams and help deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced environment.
Skills
- 2 to 3 years of experience in information technology with a focus on test automation.
- Hands-on experience testing applications through UI and API layers.
- Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, C#, Python, Perl, Shell, or Bash.
- Experience with API and microservices testing and automation.
- Working knowledge of test-driven development and behavior-driven development approaches.
- Experience with SQL or other database technologies such as Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra, or MongoDB.
- Experience working in agile teams using frameworks such as Scrum, SAFe, or XP.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical partners.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new tools, technologies, and changing priorities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in the travel industry.
- Exposure to cloud or container platforms such as AWS or OpenShift.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools such as Docker, Chef, Puppet, or Terraform.
- Experience virtualizing services for test automation using tools like WireMock or Mockito.
- Knowledge of test management and agile management tools such as VersionOne or qTest.
- Experience with tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub, GitLab, or AWS CodeCommit.
- Experience generating automation test reports using tools such as Cucumber Reports or Extent Reports.
- Background in non-functional testing such as performance, load, stress, security, accessibility, or usability testing.
