We’re looking for a creative Associate Designer to support women’s suiting in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. This onsite role in New York offers the opportunity to research trends, develop concepts, and help bring seasonal product ideas from inspiration to execution.
Responsibilities
- Research global markets and identify seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, techniques, and competitive inspiration
- Support the development of concept ideas and sketches for seasonal product lines
- Present design ideas and concepts to internal leadership and cross-functional partners
- Collaborate closely with Merchandising, Production, Technical Design, Sourcing, Visual Merchandising, and Marketing
- Partner with Production to create tech packs and communicate design intent, fit direction, and product vision
- Participate in fit sessions, gather feedback, and revise sketches and design packages as needed
- Help organize presentation materials and manage follow-up tasks to keep product development on track
- Work across multiple seasons at once while meeting important development deadlines
- Monitor details carefully and address inconsistencies in data, results, or design materials
Skills
- Experience or strong knowledge in apparel design, particularly women’s suiting or related categories
- Understanding of silhouette, fit, fabrication, garment construction, sewing techniques, trims, and color application
- Ability to translate trend research into customer- and brand-appropriate design concepts
- Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multiple teams
- Ability to manage several priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Detail-oriented mindset with a proactive, solution-focused approach
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience developing tech packs and supporting product execution
- Strong visual presentation skills, including presentation board creation
- Comfort working in a highly structured, cross-functional design process
- Ability to adapt quickly while maintaining quality and organization
- A thoughtful sense of style and an eye for current fashion trends
