Join a dynamic team supporting vulnerability remediation across hybrid OT/IT environments, where your technical expertise will help strengthen application security and operational resilience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys analyzing complex findings, coordinating cross-functional remediation efforts, and turning security requirements into practical implementation plans.
Responsibilities
- Review vulnerability scan results and assess remediation options based on technical dependencies and business impact.
- Classify vulnerabilities by ownership, technology, and the best path to remediation.
- Identify and coordinate fixes such as patches, software upgrades, package updates, Java updates, certificate replacements, TLS/cipher changes, database driver updates, and vendor-provided solutions.
- Work closely with infrastructure, application, security, and vendor teams to validate environments and determine feasible remediation approaches.
- Help application owners understand dependencies, testing needs, and release constraints tied to remediation activities.
- Develop clear technical requirements for third-party vendors when application-level changes are needed.
- Document remediation decisions, implementation guidance, open risks, and recommended next steps for future reference.
- Support risk-based prioritization while balancing security goals with operational stability.
- Provide regular progress updates, track issues, and escalate blockers to project leadership as needed.
- Contribute ideas for process improvement, preventive controls, and more effective vulnerability intake and remediation practices.
Skills
- Experience supporting OT/IT integration environments or hybrid operational and enterprise technology ecosystems.
- Background analyzing application vulnerabilities and building practical remediation plans for hosted application environments.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server and Linux application hosting environments.
- Experience with virtual machine-hosted enterprise applications.
- Understanding of patching, package management, software lifecycle management, and dependency remediation.
- Knowledge of TLS/SSL, certificates, cipher suites, and secure communication settings.
- Experience with Java, OpenJDK, Apache, Log4j, OpenSSL, or similar enterprise middleware technologies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft security updates, SQL Server components, database drivers, and related application dependencies.
- Ability to interpret vulnerability scan findings and translate them into actionable next steps.
- Experience collaborating with third-party vendors on remediation efforts.
- Strong technical writing, coordination, and stakeholder communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, warehouse, industrial automation, or similar OT-adjacent environments.
- Familiarity with integration platforms, middleware, APIs, database connectivity, and message-based application patterns.
- Experience with vulnerability management tools such as Tenable, Qualys, or Rapid7.
- Background in regulated or high-availability operational environments.
- Experience defining repeatable remediation intake, triage, and ownership processes.
- Ability to create vendor remediation packets, technical requirement documents, or security exception documentation.
- Strong judgment when evaluating operational risk for production-impacting remediation work.
