JOB DESCRIPTION

Join a dynamic engineering team as a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, where you will help shape the quality, reliability, and performance of modern applications across UI and API layers. This role offers the opportunity to work with automation, CI/CD, cloud technologies, and collaborative agile teams in a fast-paced environment focused on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, execute, and maintain automated tests for both user interface and backend services
  • Develop test automation strategies and create tools for unit, functional, and performance testing
  • Build and improve automation frameworks using strong design patterns and modular approaches
  • Write and maintain automated tests for APIs and microservices using modern testing tools and libraries
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and subject matter experts to support end-to-end quality
  • Integrate automated tests and infrastructure processes into CI/CD pipelines
  • Participate in design and code reviews and suggest improvements to processes, tools, and workflows
  • Create and maintain automation jobs in build and deployment tools
  • Generate clear test reports and help improve visibility into test execution results
  • Work across front-end and back-end technologies to help identify and prevent defects early

Skills

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in information technology with a focus on test automation
  • Hands-on experience testing applications at both the UI and API layers
  • Programming experience in one or more languages such as Java, JavaScript, C#, or Python
  • Experience with automation and testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured, Karate, Postman, or similar libraries
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and scripting languages
  • Experience with API and microservices testing
  • Working knowledge of TDD and BDD approaches, including tools such as Cucumber or JBehave
  • Experience with SQL or other database technologies, such as Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra, or MongoDB
  • Experience working in agile environments using frameworks such as Scrum, SAFe, or XP
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Comfort with adapting quickly to new tools and evolving technologies

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with travel industry systems or products
  • Exposure to cloud or container environments such as AWS or OpenShift
  • Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools such as Docker, Chef, Puppet, or Terraform
  • Experience with cloud services such as EC2, S3, CloudFormation, or CodePipeline
  • Familiarity with service virtualization tools such as WireMock or Mockito
  • Experience with test management or agile management tools such as VersionOne or qTest
  • Exposure to non-functional testing, including performance, load, stress, security, accessibility, or usability testing
  • Experience with source control tools such as GitHub, GitLab, or AWS CodeCommit
  • Experience creating reports with tools such as Extent Report or Cucumber Report
