JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re looking for a Data Contracts Analyst to help define and maintain the standards that support reliable data exchange across enterprise platforms. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys shaping data contracts, interface specifications, and validation rules that improve interoperability, consistency, and quality in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and maintain data contracts for clinical trial data and digital content services.
  • Create payload definitions, field-level standards, metadata requirements, and transformation rules for system integrations.
  • Build and support canonical data models that provide consistent data structures across source and downstream systems.
  • Define versioning, compatibility, and lifecycle practices for evolving payloads and interfaces.
  • Prepare source-to-target mapping documents that clearly describe transformation logic from source systems to canonical and target formats.
  • Partner with architects and engineers to ensure interface specifications are implemented accurately within APIs and event-driven workflows.
  • Establish validation rules to help ensure completeness, consistency, accuracy, and integrity of exchanged data.
  • Support reconciliation, exception handling, and root cause analysis for integration issues.
  • Collaborate with clinical, research, content, architecture, ontology, and engineering teams to align technical solutions with business needs.
  • Maintain clear, version-controlled documentation that supports governance, auditability, and reusable integration standards.

Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, systems analysis, data integration, or interface specification development.
  • Hands-on experience defining and documenting data contracts or complex interface specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts, including canonical data models.
  • Experience working with structured formats such as JSON and XML.
  • Experience with REST APIs and API-driven or event-driven integration environments.
  • Ability to create source-to-target mapping and transformation documentation.
  • Experience developing validation rules and supporting data quality practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Data Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or clinical research environments.
  • Familiarity with clinical trial data models and healthcare interoperability standards.
  • Experience working with ontology or semantic modeling teams.
  • Knowledge of messaging platforms and event-driven architecture patterns.
  • Exposure to OpenAPI or AsyncAPI specifications.
  • Experience with data governance and metadata management practices.
  • Understanding of enterprise content management or digital publishing platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native integration patterns.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and Git.
