- Build and support canonical data models that provide consistent data structures across source and downstream systems.
- Define versioning, compatibility, and lifecycle practices for evolving payloads and interfaces.
- Prepare source-to-target mapping documents that clearly describe transformation logic from source systems to canonical and target formats.
- Partner with architects and engineers to ensure interface specifications are implemented accurately within APIs and event-driven workflows.
- Establish validation rules to help ensure completeness, consistency, accuracy, and integrity of exchanged data.
- Support reconciliation, exception handling, and root cause analysis for integration issues.
- Collaborate with clinical, research, content, architecture, ontology, and engineering teams to align technical solutions with business needs.
- Maintain clear, version-controlled documentation that supports governance, auditability, and reusable integration standards.
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, systems analysis, data integration, or interface specification development.
- Hands-on experience defining and documenting data contracts or complex interface specifications.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts, including canonical data models.
- Experience working with structured formats such as JSON and XML.
- Experience with REST APIs and API-driven or event-driven integration environments.
- Ability to create source-to-target mapping and transformation documentation.
- Experience developing validation rules and supporting data quality practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Data Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or clinical research environments.
- Familiarity with clinical trial data models and healthcare interoperability standards.
- Experience working with ontology or semantic modeling teams.
- Knowledge of messaging platforms and event-driven architecture patterns.
- Exposure to OpenAPI or AsyncAPI specifications.
- Experience with data governance and metadata management practices.
- Understanding of enterprise content management or digital publishing platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud-native integration patterns.
- Working knowledge of SQL and Git.
