Role Overview
The Release Manager owns the end-to-end release management function for a digital health ecosystem, ensuring reliable, secure, and compliant delivery of software changes across telehealth and integrated clinical systems. This role sits at the intersection of DevOps, ITIL, vendor coordination, and healthcare compliance, driving release governance while minimizing risk to patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead release planning, governance, and execution across environments (dev, test, staging, production)
- Establish and enforce ITIL-aligned release processes, calendars, and deployment standards
- Coordinate vendor (telehealth/SaaS) releases, ensuring compatibility with EHR and integrated systems
- Drive release readiness, go/no-go decisions, and post-release reviews
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and security standards; manage risk impacting patient care and PHI
- Partner cross-functionally with clinical, product, infrastructure, and support teams
- Track and improve release KPIs (deployment success, failure rate, MTTR)
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in Release Management, DevOps, or IT Service Management in regulated environments
- Experience with vendor-supported SaaS platforms and release coordination
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, environment management, and change control
- Experience working in HIPAA-compliant environments handling sensitive data
- Familiarity with ITIL release and change management practices
Preferred Skills
- Telehealth or digital health platform experience
- EHR integrations (HL7, FHIR)
- Cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS)
- ITIL certification and/or SRE/incident management experience
