Exciting opportunity for a Mainframe Developer to drive impactful solutions and modernize systems in Salt Lake City, UT. Join a dynamic team focused on solving complex business challenges.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product management and stakeholders to design scalable, effective solutions.
- Refine technical requirements and suggest innovative technical approaches.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure compliance with secure coding standards.
- Create and maintain technical documentation to provide clear guidelines.
- Support application maintenance, stability, and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Coordinate with offshore teams to ensure seamless development and operations.
- Mentor and guide junior developers within the team.
- Manage application releases and address user-reported concerns effectively.
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in mainframe application maintenance and support.
- Proficient in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Assembler and EZtrieve tools.
- Experience with Endevor or other source control management tools.
- Background in consulting or enterprise environments.
