Ensure projects align with strategic goals, stay within scope/budget/timeline, and drive sustainable benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and manage project objectives, scope, budget, deliverables, timelines, and milestones, while engaging diverse stakeholders across investment teams, operations (middle/back office), and enabling functions (technology, data, architecture).
- Oversee planning and execution of project workstreams to meet delivery milestones and achieve targeted business benefits.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans in Microsoft Project (or equivalent), clearly articulating goals, outcomes, and milestone tracking at portfolio, programme, and project levels.
- Build and manage project budgets, including cost models, forecasts, actuals tracking, and variance analysis.
- Create resource forecasts for managed projects to support resource manager discussions, portfolio prioritization, and demand/supply balancing.
- Prepare and deliver regular project status reports, updates, and presentations at governance forums.
- Maintain core project management activities, including resource management, RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs, issue prioritization/resolution, and quality oversight.
- Establish and run effective project governance, manage stakeholder expectations, and operate within the firm's control framework.
- Ensure project plans align with the organization's strategic roadmap and long-term business priorities.
- Collaborate closely with architecture, technology, and data teams to design and implement effective solutions.
- Facilitate shared understanding among stakeholders on deliverables, contributions, and the overall impact of capability transformations.
Essential Capabilities & Experience
- Extensive project management experience with a strong track record delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Proven delivery of large-scale transformations in asset management environments, ideally involving alternatives or similar asset classes.
- Solid understanding of front-to-back operating models in asset management (investments, distribution, performance/reporting, accounting, custody, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of change governance processes, best practices, and end-to-end solution delivery (including coordination with technology, data, and other enabling functions).
- Highly competent in Microsoft Project for planning, tracking, and reporting.
- Experience with project methodologies (Hybrid, Waterfall), including full lifecycle documentation, risk/issue management, and quality controls.
- Passion for high-quality outcomes with a self-starter mindset.
- Excellent communication, influencing, stakeholder management, and client-focused skills.
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships and navigate complex decisions effectively.
Desirable Additional Knowledge
- Familiarity with asset management operational practices, including transitions, wind-downs, or entity/asset-level changes.
- Understanding of investment lifecycles, supporting systems, fund structures, and associated regulatory/risk considerations in alternatives or broader asset classes.
