JOB DESCRIPTION
The Solution Analyst (data engineer) supports the Solution Owner by managing and delivering SDLC activities, including analysis, design, configuration, development, testing, deployment, and rollout for Supply Chain Planning solutions across multiple applications and technologies. The role also provides project management for small solution changes.
The primary focus area for the Solution Analyst to fulfill these SDLC tasks will be on data engineering. This will require building a strong working knowledge in various areas, with a strong focus on existing end-to-end business processes, system and data integrations, data mappings, interface designs and system administration.
Acting as gatekeeper for application changes, the Solution Analyst will analyze business requirements, translate them into solution designs, provide effort estimates and create functional and technical specifications. He/she will need to document all solution design and analysis work accordingly.
The Solution Analyst will analyze the solution landscape supporting our business organizations with the aim to identify and recommend solutions for improvement to help our business run effectively, transform and grow.
The Solution Analyst will closely work with 3rd party service partners (mainly supporting development, testing and support tasks). This requires preparation and hand-over of functional and technical specifications to them as well as review and evaluation of their deliverables (development results, test results etc.). In this regard the Solution Analyst must ensure to follow best practices and design patterns used for existing processes while avoiding custom solution designs wherever possible.
The role will include day-to-day collaboration and design discussions with the Global Planning and Analytics (GPA) organization, IT staff and with staff from all partners involved in the solution.
