Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as the Senior Manager of R&D. As a pivotal member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future direction of our R&D department.

Job responsibilities;

Develop and implement comprehensive plans and strategies for the R&D department, including setting yearly goals and establishing a roadmap for achieving them. Demonstrated problem-solving skills are essential for this aspect of the role.
Stay abreast of technological advancements and market trends, particularly in large-scale environments such as cloud computing, drawing insights from industry leaders like Grab, to inform decision-making processes within the R&D team.
Demonstrate adept management psychology to foster a positive and productive work environment, ensuring that team members are motivated and aligned with the department's objectives.
Maintain oversight of R&D department processes, ensuring that all workflows are on-track and properly documented to facilitate efficiency and accountability.
Lead efforts to build automated development processes, leveraging both people management skills and refined understanding of streamlined workflows.
Provide guidance and support to managers within the R&D department, overseeing their performance and ensuring progress aligns with organizational goals.
Effectively manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and facilitate career development opportunities for team members, utilizing data-driven insights to inform decision-making processes.
Act as the primary representative for the R&D department in various events, product launches, and industry engagements, showcasing the department's contributions and innovations to external stakeholders.

Job requirements

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
Proven track record of success in leading research and development teams, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a managerial role.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically about long-term departmental goals and objectives.
Deep understanding of technology trends and their potential impact on business operations, particularly in large-scale environments.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and represent the R&D department externally.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a focus on fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
