About the Role: In line with established testing standards and procedures, and under the guidance of management, this role is responsible for leading, planning, and actively participating in complex qualification and acceptance testing activities for both hardware and software components within Company’s networks. The objective is to ensure the highest levels of product quality while operating within the defined operating plan and allocated budget. The role also acts as a technical lead on qualification projects, providing direction, oversight, and expertise throughout the testing lifecycle.
We are seeking an experienced Lead Test Automation Specialist to drive the evolution of our Observability Platform and Quality Assurance practice. In this key role, you will design and build a robust QA framework from the ground up to ensure high standards of software quality, reliability, and performance. You will lead the development of automated testing solutions, define comprehensive test strategies and test cases, and integrate automated testing seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines in close collaboration with engineering teams. Your work will be instrumental in enabling rapid, scalable, and high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead QA Strategy and Vision: Define and implement a proactive QA and test automation strategy aligned with organizational goals. Work with stakeholders to drive a shared vision for quality across development stages, enhancing software quality, performance, and test coverage.
- Design and Implement QA Framework: Lead the design and execution of a scalable, maintainable QA framework from ground up, covering functional and non-functional tests, including test automation, manual testing, regression, performance, and release validation
- Automated Monitoring and Alerts: Implement real-time automated monitoring and alerting for test failures, ensuring quick identification and resolution by the engineering team.
- Kafka & ELK Stack Testing: Conduct comprehensive testing of Kafka and ELK components, with a focus on data ingestion, indexing/query performance, log analysis, and integration with the ELK stack, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- Promote Test Automation Tools: Advocate for and facilitate the adoption of advanced test automation tools within the team to improve efficiency and quality.
- CI/CD Integration: Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for seamless deployment and testing.
- Test Planning & Execution: Design comprehensive test plans, execute tests, analyze results, and provide detailed quality reports on applications.
- Test Automation Repository Management: Oversee the organization and maintenance of test automation code repositories using Git, ensuring proper versioning and access control.
- Data Validation & Manipulation: Perform thorough data validation and manipulation for diverse test scenarios to ensure data integrity and accuracy across various testing environments.
- Mentorship & Best Practices: Mentor junior engineers in test automation practices, driving continuous improvement and adoption of best practices in QA within the team.
Key Requirements:
Professional Skills
- 8 to 10 years of experience within a testing or development environment; 5 years of experience in testing; Advantage for experience in Kafka and ELK stack
- University degree in Computer Science, software engineer or equivalent.
- Experience with Automation/DevOps tools (Git / BitBucket / RobotFramework / Cucumber / Cloudbees / Openshift / Ansible / Docker) for automating tests and managing DevOps pipelines.
- Experience with data ingestion technologies like Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana (ELK Stack), and Kafka for managing and analyzing large datasets.
- Proficiency in scripting language (e.g. Python, PowerShell, YAML) and automation tools, with the ability to develop tools and infrastructure as code (Preferably Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Proficiency in both Windows and Linux OS
- Strong ability to develop metrics and generate data-driven reports to analyze testing performance and quality metrics
- Expertise in troubleshooting complex systems, with the ability to analyze and resolve issues across a variety of technologies and environments.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and API testing (REST/SOAP), ensuring smooth integration and performance of different services.
- Experience working within an Agile-driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-centric mindset and ability to work effectively across diverse cultures.
- Proven ability to collaborate with both local and remote teams across different time zones.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident Management, Problem Management, and Continual Improvement) for managing issues and improving service delivery in a structured way.
- Knowledge of Atlassian products (Jira/Confluence/…) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow) is an advantage.
