Senior SAP Basis / Infrastructure Specialist
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

About the Role:  We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP Basis / Infrastructure Specialist with 10+ years of expertise in SAP Basis administration and infrastructure management. This is a senior individual contributor role, requiring deep technical knowledge, hands-on problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex enterprise SAP landscapes. A strong background in Unix/Linux systems will be highly advantageous.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, and performance of mission-critical SAP environments, while acting as a subject matter expert for technical SAP operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Landscape Ownership: Act as the technical lead for SAP Basis across multiple landscapes (ECC, S/4HANA, BW/BI, Solution Manager, Fiori, etc.).
  • System Administration: Oversee installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of SAP systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Performance & Reliability: Conduct regular system health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning to ensure optimal system availability.
  • Upgrades & Patching: Execute complex SAP upgrades, migrations, kernel updates, and database patching with minimal downtime.
  • Security & Compliance: Manage system security, authorizations, and compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Infrastructure Integration: Ensure seamless integration between SAP systems, databases, and operating environments (Unix/Linux preferred).
  • Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Lead the resolution of high-priority incidents and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • High Availability & DR: Implement and support high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, operational processes, and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Application, Infrastructure, and Security teams to drive end-to-end system reliability and project success.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 10+ years of SAP Basis administration experience in large, complex environments.
  • Proven expertise in SAP NetWeaver, S/4HANA, Solution Manager, and SAP Fiori administration.
  • Solid background in Unix/Linux system administration.
Technical Competencies:
  • SAP installations, upgrades, migrations, and support packages at scale.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP HANA and traditional DBs (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server).
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Solution Manager, SAP CCMS).
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure dependencies (networking, storage, OS).
Soft Skills:
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as a senior individual contributor while influencing peers and teams.
Nice-to-Have
  • SAP Basis or HANA certifications.
  • Experience with cloud-hosted SAP landscapes (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of automation/scripting tools (Shell, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Exposure to DevOps/CI-CD practices in SAP environments.
