About the role: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Developer with strong Data Engineering expertise to join our international team. This role involves designing, developing, testing, installing, and supporting complex programs and systems in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. You’ll play a key role in shaping data solutions, mentoring junior team members, and supporting technical strategy and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, install, and support enterprise-grade software applications and systems.
- Analyse business needs and translate them into scalable and sustainable technical solutions.
- Interface with stakeholders across functional and geographical boundaries to gather requirements and propose solutions.
- Lead or participate in technical feasibility analysis, system design discussions, and architecture decisions.
- Make recommendations on best-practice systems and processes for small to medium complexity projects.
- Validate and resolve alternative problem management proposals.
- Provide technical support, mentorship, and guidance to junior developers and team members.
- Collaborate in code reviews, design reviews, and documentation activities.
- May lead and coordinate the delivery of small projects, including task allocation, cost estimation, and timelines.
- Ensure adherence to development standards, security practices, and operational excellence.
- Participate in on-call support rotations and incident resolution when required.
Requirements:
- 5–10+ years of professional experience in software development within an international and agile environment.
- Proven experience in data engineering and modern software development practices.
- Strong experience in Java, Python, and Unix Shell scripting.
- Good understanding of container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and OpenShift.
- Solid grasp of data architecture concepts including data lakes, data hubs, and data warehouses.
- Familiarity with Amazon S3 or equivalent massive object storage platforms.
- Experience with CI/CD tools: GIT, Jenkins, Maven, SonarQube, and other static/dynamic code analysis tools.
- Proficiency in Agile tools: JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub.
Good to Have (Preferred Skills):
- Exposure to Apache Spark, Kafka, NiFi, Airflow or other big data platforms.
- Experience working with Red Hat Linux, Elasticsearch/Kibana, and Oracle databases.
- Knowledge of Helm Charts, Terraform, and Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
- Familiarity with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and TLS certificate management.
