JOB DESCRIPTION

Join a dynamic food safety and quality team supporting the development and commercialization of safe, high-quality food products. This hybrid project management role offers the opportunity to partner with cross-functional teams, guide supplier and product risk assessments, and help strengthen food safety and regulatory compliance across the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Support food safety, quality, and regulatory initiatives throughout the product development and commercialization process.
  • Review and monitor supplier facilities through desk audits, GFSI-recognized audits, and other qualification activities.
  • Evaluate product specifications for food safety and quality considerations across assigned categories or products.
  • Partner with internal teams, suppliers, and senior risk management colleagues to address product issues and consumer complaints.
  • Provide guidance to cross-functional partners to help integrate food safety and quality requirements into project milestones and decision-making.
  • Help create risk-based tools, decision frameworks, and processes that support earlier issue identification and reduce downstream rework.
  • Maintain accurate and complete food safety and quality documentation in appropriate systems.
  • Track project progress, identify risks, communicate issues, and support corrective actions as needed.
  • Contribute to food and beverage regulatory compliance efforts by helping manage and analyze product and supplier data.

Skills

  • 6+ years of experience in food safety, food quality assurance, supplier quality, or food supplier risk management.
  • Experience conducting supplier qualification and ongoing monitoring activities.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, preventive controls, GMPs, allergen management, and food safety regulatory requirements.
  • Experience reviewing food product specifications and assessing ingredient, finished product, or supplier-related risks.
  • Ability to complete documented, risk-based assessments and recommend practical mitigation or escalation actions.
  • Background supporting product development, supplier onboarding, formulation changes, or commercialization projects.
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage milestones, resolve issues, and coordinate follow-up actions.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and document or project management tools.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with bakery products, ingredients, or bakery manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with Bamboo Rose or similar product lifecycle or supplier management systems.
  • Experience supporting food labeling, product claims, or multi-market regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Ability to build risk-based tools, supplier scorecards, or standardized food safety and quality processes.
  • Experience using approved AI tools for document analysis, reporting, or workflow optimization.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • A detail-oriented, proactive approach with the ability to balance quality, compliance, and business needs.
