Join a dynamic engineering team as a Software Integration Engineer supporting the integration and testing of software and hardware systems for a combat vehicle platform. This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with Linux-based systems, networking technologies, and cross-functional engineering teams to help deliver reliable, high-quality technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Integrate and test software applications running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments
- Support the integration of hardware modules and software components within a combat vehicle system
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot software and hardware integration testbeds
- Work with Ethernet and CAN bus technologies to investigate and resolve technical issues
- Collaborate with engineering and test teams to analyze problems, review data, and verify solutions
- Perform scripting, networking, cybersecurity hardening, and related system checks as needed
- Package software into RPMs and binary executables, and support drivers, shared objects, and static libraries
- Contribute to software verification testing and help ensure solutions meet system, performance, and quality expectations
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
- Relevant internship experience or related experience in software integration
- Experience integrating software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Ability to work with hardware and software integration in a technical test environment
- Understanding of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols
- Experience with Git and Jira/GitLab configuration management tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Ability to build effective working relationships with customers and engineering partners
- Willingness to travel to a customer site as needed
- Ability to work in environments supporting combat vehicle systems
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- One year of relevant experience
- Experience using NI TestStand
- Familiarity with embedded systems and real-time operating systems such as VxWorks
- Exposure to scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python
- Working knowledge of C and C++
- Experience with MIL-STD-1553, UML modeling tools, or DOORS
- Familiarity with Qt Framework and QML-based front-end development
- Knowledge of Ethernet-based protocols such as SSL/TLS, SSH, and SFTP
- Experience with cybersecurity tools and practices, including Nessus, Coverity, STIG hardening, and virtual machines
- Familiarity with relevant military or commercial design standards
- Experience with combat vehicle functionality or capability
