We are seeking a Data Architect to lead the design, development, and governance of data solutions that support regulatory reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making. This six-month opportunity is ideal for someone with strong SQL Server, SSIS, and SSRS expertise who enjoys solving complex data challenges in a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain data architecture and enterprise data models that support reporting, compliance, and analytics needs.
- Define and apply architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices across the data environment.
- Analyze source systems and create scalable solutions for integrating new data sources and workflows.
- Establish and support data governance practices, including lineage, metadata, and data quality controls.
- Lead technical reviews and provide guidance on database, integration, and reporting initiatives.
- Develop and optimize Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Managed Instance solutions.
- Create and maintain stored procedures, views, functions, and other database objects.
- Improve performance through tuning, indexing, query optimization, and capacity planning.
- Support database upgrades, security measures, and disaster recovery planning.
- Architect and maintain ETL solutions using SSIS and support scheduled data processing workflows.
- Build and manage data ingestion processes for internal and external sources.
- Develop and support SSRS reporting solutions for regulatory, operational, and executive reporting.
- Collaborate with business partners and technical teams to translate reporting needs into effective solutions.
- Document procedures and support data migration, import, export, and report creation activities.
Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience developing ETL processes using SSIS.
- Background in SSRS report development and support.
- Ability to design scalable data solutions and enterprise data models.
- Knowledge of SQL performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Experience creating stored procedures, views, functions, and related database objects.
- Understanding of data governance, metadata, lineage, and data quality practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Comfort working in a regulated environment with attention to accuracy and compliance.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance.
- Familiarity with data migration, import, export, and report creation workflows.
- Exposure to REST API and GraphQL integrations.
- Experience with job scheduling tools such as Autosys.
- Knowledge of documentation practices for procedures and technical processes.
- Experience supporting reporting and analytics for compliance-related use cases.
