Join a fast-paced construction and engineering environment where you will help ensure mechanical design packages are complete, coordinated, and ready for successful execution. This role focuses on reviewing wet and dry mechanical systems, supporting permit readiness, and helping keep complex project work moving forward with clarity and precision.
Responsibilities
- Review and validate mechanical design packages for a construction project, including wet and dry systems.
- Evaluate HVAC, plumbing, cooling tower, and chiller designs, along with structural coordination details.
- Confirm that designs align with applicable mechanical codes, fire protection standards, local authority requirements, and project standards.
- Work closely with the design engineer of record, general contractor, and internal stakeholders to resolve RFIs, design conflicts, and constructability concerns.
- Support permit submissions by reviewing mechanical design elements for completeness and alignment with approved intent.
- Review contractor submittals within the mechanical scope to help keep procurement and construction activities on track.
- Identify coordination issues early to reduce risk of change orders, schedule delays, and rework during installation.
Skills
- Strong background in mechanical engineering design review.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, cooling tower, and chiller systems.
- Familiarity with mechanical codes and standards such as IMC, IPC, and NFPA.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and communicate technical issues clearly.
- Experience reviewing design documents, RFIs, and submittals.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving and follow-through.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving project environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting permit packages and authority review processes.
- Background working with general contractors and design engineer of record teams.
- Exposure to large-scale construction or industrial project environments.
- Knowledge of constructability review practices and coordination workflows.
- Comfort navigating complex design packages and multi-discipline coordination.
