Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve scalable networking software for low-latency, high-throughput interconnect environments.
• Lead technical decisions that shape platform direction, architecture, and long-term engineering strategy.
• Investigate and resolve complex system-level issues spanning hardware, firmware, operating systems, and networking layers.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for production and customer-facing incidents, including Linux crash dump and kernel-level debugging.
• Evaluate emerging technologies across operating systems, networking hardware, adapters, accelerators, and interconnect fabrics.
• Plan and execute research efforts and proof-of-concepts to validate technologies and measure performance impact.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to prototype, benchmark, and deliver platform enhancements.
• Define performance criteria, validation methods, and success metrics for networking and interconnect solutions.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and architectural discussions.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to help speed up coding, analysis, and testing efforts.

Skills

• Strong experience developing high-performance Linux systems or networking software.
• Hands-on Linux kernel and driver development experience in C, including production support.
• Deep understanding of InfiniBand and Ethernet networking, including RDMA and RoCE.
• Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, and Linux networking tools for tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experience with packet-level analysis and kernel debugging tools such as tcpdump, kgdb, and crash.
• Background in designing efficient, low-latency data transport protocols.
• Proficiency in C, Bash, and Python for systems programming, automation, and diagnostics.
• Experience working with Linux kernel concepts such as DKMS, driver lifecycle management, and cross-version compatibility.
• Ability to support complex troubleshooting efforts and communicate findings clearly to technical and business partners.
• Collaborative mindset with the confidence to influence without direct authority.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with DPUs, SmartNICs, or hardware offload technologies.
• Exposure to kernel-bypass networking approaches such as RDMA verbs, DPDK, XDP, or eBPF.
• Familiarity with high-speed Ethernet environments and modern interconnect fabrics.
• Knowledge of NUMA tuning, CPU affinity, cache locality, and memory bandwidth optimization.
• Experience supporting distributed storage or database platforms in production.
• Previous work with hardware vendors on integration or performance issues.
• Contributions to open-source networking, kernel, or systems software projects.
• Experience with massively parallel processing environments and message-passing interfaces.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in high-performance Linux systems or networking software development with technical leadership.
