Join a dynamic technology team supporting critical financial processing and enterprise-scale tax and fee compliance systems. This hybrid role, based in Minneapolis, MN, is ideal for a backend engineer who enjoys building scalable services, solving complex integration challenges, and contributing to modernization efforts in a fast-moving Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and team collaboration sessions
• Own feature development from testing through deployment to production
• Design and deliver reliable, maintainable, and testable backend solutions
• Build and support scalable backend services and web applications
• Help maintain and stabilize existing integrations within a complex finance technology environment
• Support modernization efforts for legacy applications and systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure accurate and efficient financial processing
• Support production applications and contribute to ongoing operational stability

Skills

• Strong backend development experience with Kotlin
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot
• Experience building and supporting RESTful APIs
• Experience with Kafka or similar event-driven messaging platforms
• Experience working with PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases
• Background developing scalable, distributed applications
• Experience writing unit and integration tests with a focus on testable code design
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD delivery workflows
• Ability to work effectively in an Agile environment and support production systems
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Java
• Exposure to React for light UI support or enhancements
• Experience in financial systems, accounting platforms, or enterprise transaction processing
• Background supporting high-volume retail or e-commerce environments
