Step into a hands-on Fleet Support Engineer role supporting the operational uptime of an autonomous vehicle fleet in Atlanta, GA. This onsite position is ideal for a technically minded problem solver who enjoys real-time troubleshooting, cross-functional collaboration, and improving vehicle reliability through detailed analysis and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main escalation contact for sensor-related fleet issues and support technicians in real time.
- Investigate technical problems by reviewing logs, vehicle data, and sensor data to identify root causes and trends.
- Document troubleshooting steps, update repair guidance, and help build a stronger knowledge base for field teams.
- Support hardware bring-up and validation for new sensor components such as LiDAR, radar, and cameras.
- Develop practical diagnostic workflows to improve issue detection, calibration, and data integrity.
- Partner with engineering teams to strengthen tools, improve fleet issue detection, and implement countermeasures.
- Define the key data needed to confirm resolutions and measure the effectiveness of fixes.
- Collaborate across teams to improve vehicle performance, reliability, and service efficiency.
- Be available for overtime when needed with advance notice and travel occasionally within the U.S. as required.
Skills
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in transportation, aerospace, or autonomous vehicles, with a focus on perception systems and sensors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Working knowledge of low- and high-voltage circuits and safe troubleshooting practices.
- Experience with Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) and systems architecture in an operations environment.
- Ability to read schematics, electrical diagrams, connector end views, and pinouts.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex vehicle issues into actionable component-level actions.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across teams.
- Willingness to pass a background check.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with electric vehicle technology.
- Background supporting vehicle troubleshooting remotely.
- Familiarity with vehicle systems and diagnostic tools.
- Experience using Linux and Python for fleet-level data processing.
- Knowledge of software that interfaces with hardware.
- Understanding of networking, TCP, and socket programming.
