  • Act as the primary technical contact for urgent issues involving interior and exterior vehicle systems, especially doors and closures.
  • Investigate mechanical, electrical, and software-related faults to determine root cause and confirm effective repairs.
  • Validate closure calibration, measurements, and component bring-up after repairs or replacements.
  • Perform functional checks, fit and finish assessments, and cycle testing to ensure repairs meet quality expectations.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts on recurring body, closure, and lighting issues and help drive corrective actions across the fleet.
  • Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides, service procedures, and repair documentation for technicians.
  • Differentiate between wiring, connector, and component issues using schematics, pinouts, and diagnostic data.
  • Own escalations related to exterior and interior lighting, including fault isolation and safety-related follow-up.
  • Review fleet and ticket data to identify trends and support ongoing product and quality improvements.
  • Coordinate structural, cosmetic, and vendor-supported repairs while helping reduce vehicle downtime.
  • Support night, weekend, and occasional U.S. travel requirements as needed with advance notice.

Skills

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in automotive, transportation, autonomous vehicles, or a related technical field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Practical experience with body, closure, trim, lighting, or other vehicle hardware systems.
  • Ability to measure gap and flush, assess fit and finish, and interpret tolerance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of schematics, electrical diagrams, and connector views or pinouts.
  • Experience reviewing UDS issues and basic CAN/log data for troubleshooting.
  • Strong root-cause analysis skills and a holistic approach to solving technical issues.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams in fast-moving service environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with electromechanical door and closure systems, including actuator calibration.
  • Background diagnosing automotive lighting systems, including LED, DRL, signal lamps, and harness-vs-component issues.
  • Familiarity with software-controlled or animated exterior lighting systems.
  • Experience using service, calibration, or bring-up tools and working with firmware deployment.
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle technology.
  • Experience supporting vehicle troubleshooting remotely.
  • Exposure to body repair, refinishing, or vendor coordination such as body shop, paint, or vinyl wrap work.
  • Experience with Linux- and Python-based tools for fleet data analysis or processing.
