JOB DESCRIPTION

Step into a high-impact field safety role supporting autonomous vehicle operations and strengthening emergency response readiness in communities where the organization operates. This position is ideal for a seasoned public safety professional who enjoys building trusted relationships, delivering practical training, and turning field feedback into meaningful safety improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with first responders, emergency services, and public safety partners across an assigned region
  • Deliver training on vehicle capabilities, emergency procedures, and safety protocols to fire, EMS, and law enforcement agencies
  • Gather insights from first responder interactions and collaborate with internal safety teams to support operational and engineering improvements
  • Represent the organization on industry groups, interagency committees, and relevant safety-focused forums
  • Support partnerships with local agencies and emergency response organizations to strengthen coordination and preparedness
  • Attend industry events and meetings to share knowledge, build awareness, and support community engagement
  • Help troubleshoot data-related processes with technical teams when needed, with a focus on practical collaboration rather than coding

Skills

  • Extensive professional experience in fire department service
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities
  • Strong understanding of emergency response practices and safety protocols
  • Experience working with technical investigations and external stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate across teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Data literacy and comfort working with technical partners to support operational processes
  • Background in public safety, transportation, emergency management, or a related field

Preferred Skills

  • Established network within fire, law enforcement, transportation safety, or emergency response communities
  • Experience with regional traffic incident management or public safety coalitions
  • Familiarity with autonomous vehicle operations or related mobility technology
  • Experience in specialized investigations such as reconstruction, forensic work, arson, or cyber-related inquiries
  • Relevant certification in traffic safety or investigations
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related discipline
